Ambered Oculus – A table lamp for evenings, not alertness.
Table Lamps get something wrong most times. They blast your eyes with Blue Light and wake up your brain to day time and they make it really hard for you to relax and fall asleep later.
If you read or do work after sunset, you probably have experienced this. After you shut off the lamp and go to bed, your brain is still awake from the light and you are not relaxed at all. This is not the best way to enjoy a nice, peaceful evening if you like having a restful, natural evening.
That’s how the Ambered Oculus was created.
There were only two basic principles used during our design process:
Principle number one: No Blue Light
The Ambered Oculus will not produce any Blue Light.
Principle number two: Include Deep Red at 670nm
This specific wavelength of red has been proven to be very gentle on the eyes. It provides you with a light source that is less harsh than standard white LED lights.
There are three different modes that correspond to real evening activity
Amber Mode
Provides bright enough light to remain productive and active; however, it also produces soft light to maintain an even calm evening experience. The best choice for reading, relaxation or for moving around while maintaining your natural pace.
Deep Red Mode
Produces a very soft, soothing 670nm light. The best choice for those quiet late hours when you don’t want to be stimulated too much and would prefer a more calming evening feel.
Mix Mode
Provides a nice combination of Amber and Red which makes for a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. Best choice for low-key evenings, quiet moments, and unwinding before bedtime.
